SEGA is now launching two new Samba de Amigo games this month. The first is a Nintendo Switch and Meta Quest version called Samba de Amigo: Party Central which is launching on 29 August. However, Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go is also launching on the same day on Apple Arcade.
Essentially, both games look pretty much the same. Even the cover art used across both titles is almost identical apart from the tagline being Party Central on one image and the other having Party-to-Go. The only difference between the two games is that the Apple Arcade Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go version features three exclusive songs from PSY, Lady Gaga and The Tantrums.

According to Apple’s announcement, Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go also features the series’ first story mode. Players will join Amigo on his quest to reclaim music. It is taken for granted that the Nintendo Switch Party Central game will also feature the same story mode. However, SEGA and Nintendo haven’t been very forthcoming with the content included in the game as of yet.
It is unclear how the general gameplay in Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go will work. The Switch game relies on motion controls to play the music. We don’t know if you’ll be swinging your iPhone around in this port or tapping buttons to play the game.
Apple also announced a few other games headed to the Apple Arcade service this month. You can look forward to Nekograms+, a cat-based puzzle game. Finity is a chess game that meets Tetris. Both games arrive on 8 and 25 August respectively. Kingdoms: Merge & Build is then headed your way on 18 August.
Here’s the trailer for Samba de Amigo: Party Central which is pretty much the Apple Arcade game without the Switch elements.
