New Sonic Superstars Looks Pretty Awesome

SEGA is rebooting the classic Sonic The Hedgehog series and giving it a fresh coat of colourful paint. The new Sonic Superstars game is described as an “all-new take on classic 2D Sonic high-speed action platforming”.

According to the trailer, Sonic Superstars will feature the same classic gameplay we all live from the franchise. This means dashing across 2D areas at the speed of light while also fighting mechanics animals. The game also introduces Tails, Amy and Knuckles as additional playable characters. These characters can also be played in full co-op mode too.

Sonic also seems to have some new abilities. He can pick up a blue item which lets him walk on walls and even dive up waterfalls. He can also grapple across 3D areas from certain points. Another ability sees Sonic duplicate himself into a dozen clones and deal damage to everything in their path.
