The first trailer for the live-action adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released back in April this year by Paramount Pictures and SEGA and sparked fan outcry. Sonic in live-action just looked too real and his proportions were all wrong, he even had human teeth, a small, realistic nose, small eyes and honestly, it could give you nightmares. Now, a new Sonic The Hedgehog trailer has been released with the reworked Sonic and although it probably won’t please all the fans out there, it looks much better.

In the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer (view at the bottom of this article) he actually looks pretty cute now, without those scary teeth, beady eyes and realistic nose. Changing the look of Sonic definitely took some time as Paramount Pictures had to delay the film from November 2019 to 14 February 2020.
The film’s director, Jeff Fowler, clearly kept his promise of reworking the character and it is great to see the people at Paramount Pictures and SEGA get behind the changes to the iconic video game character’s live-action film adaptation.

In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.[/perfectpullquote]
The new Sonic the Hedgehog trailer focuses on setting up the story with the loveable blue speedster (voiced by Ben Schwartz from Parks and Recreation) looking and sounding great during some intense action sequences and some fun, character-building scenes, with Jim Carrey’s take on Dr Robotnik (aka Doctor Eggman) showing up as well. Then, there’s the final scene that gives a nod to the whole debacle with changing Sonic’s look from the first iteration.
