Amy Hennig was one of the main creative forces behind Uncharted and Naughty Dog in general working on titles such as Jak and Daxter, Legacy of Kain, and Uncharted. Hennig is now with Skydance New Media as the division’s president and will lead the new Star Wars game announced by the studio.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly. I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.
Douglas Reilly the vice president of Lucasfilm Games stated:
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy. She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure.
Their vision for making narrative driven and engaging interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We’re working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with Star Wars fans when the time is right.”
Hennig’s new Skydance New Media team is also working on a new Marvel game making this the second collaboration with Disney. Hennig’s venerated past gives hope that the new Star Wars title will be phenomenal and hopefully we can see something along the lines of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in a modern setting.
There are reports of a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel in the works and it’s believed that it will even be announced this May during the celebration of Star Wars day.
