Steelrising is flying somewhat under the radar. This soulslike game aims to deliver a steampunk setting with robotic enemies to slay while exploring Paris. The game is set in 1789 amidst The Revolution. You play as Aegis, a robotic killing machine created by an engineer called The Clockwork King. Aegis has the ability to wield all sorts of weapons while also being nimble and able to jump, dash and manoeuvre in all sorts of ways.

The idea behind Steelrising is to play out like a soulslike game but with a new refreshing twist on things. The game is developed by Spiders and published by Nacon and the latest trailer does a great job showcasing some of the intense fights you’ll encounter in the game.

Steelrising’s steampunk setting has allowed the studio to create all sorts of weird and wonderful machines to fight. In the trailer, called “Titans”, we get a closer look at these mechanical creations. Some wield giant crossbows while others use weights attached to chains to fight the players. There’s obviously some sort of essence in Steelrising which also gives these machines some special elemental abilities. One boss fight, for example, is a giant wooden pedestal that has frozen blades. Another is a fire being and the third is a giant electrified golem.

We don’t have long to wait to play Steelrising. The game is expected to launch on 8 September for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the trailer below:
