Earlier this year, Gearbox co-founder Randy Pitchford teased that fans can expect the reveal of a new Tales from the Borderlands game sometime this summer. It looks like his promise is being fulfilled as Korea has now rated a title called New Tales from the Borderlands as well as its Deluxe Edition.
As spotted by Gematsu, two ratings have popped up for New Tales from the Borderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands Deluxe Edition, indicating that a reveal could potentially happen very soon. No details were given about the game but we definitely won’t be waiting long to find out.

Tales from the Borderlands is an episodic interactive adventure developed by Telltale Games and was originally released in late 2014. The plot revolves around Vault Hunters attempting to discover new Vaults that have been scattered throughout the galaxy after the events of Borderlands 2. Like Telltale’s previous works, the game relied on Telltale’s branching choices and player agency that led to different outcomes for the story.
The sequel will likely pick up after the events of the first game and presumably Borderlands 3, though it’s not known if it will follow the same cast of characters.
Last month, the ESRB rated the original Tales from the Borderlands for PS5, which may give us our biggest clue that the first game will receive some sort of upgrade in the near future, possibly to launch alongside the sequel. No release date for this PS5 version was given, though we’ll likely hear more about it soon.
In related news, Gearbox released Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands earlier this year to mostly great reviews. The spin-off adopts a zanier approach to Borderlands’ signature gameplay, taking place in the whimsical style of Tiny Tina’s imaginative premise. It’s currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
