CD Projekt RED is not stopping anytime soon. Even though the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has not released yet, the studio already has plans for the next Witcher game set in motion. The upcoming Witcher game will also kick off development right after Cyberpunk 2077 releases. Well, let’s hope the developers take a vacation first, of course.

According to CD Projekt RED president Adam Kiciński, the next instalment in The Witcher series already has a clear concept in place and development will kick off “immediately” after the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Kiciński claims next instalment will not be a direct sequel to the 2015 release “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” and it won’t be called “The Witcher 4” either.
Kiciński said that every game that CD Projekt RED has in the pipeline is based on either The Witcher or Cyberpunk universe so you can expect sequel sometime in the distant future. A small development team is being resourced for the new Witcher game while two larger teams are currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 and its multiplayer and future DLC.
Kiciński did not share any details about the upcoming Witcher sequel other than it taking place in the franchise. Of course, the game will most likely release in the distant future for next-gen consoles. Even though Cyberpunk 2077 has not arrived yet, we are already excited for the next Witcher 4 game.
