Blizzard Entertainment will reveal a brand new World of Warcraft expansion via an online preview event scheduled for 19 April. In addition to the new expansion announcement, Blizzard is also planning to reveal several details about the Hearthstone expansion and the Warcraft mobile game.
As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Blizzard will host an online event on 19 April where they will unveil the next adventure set in World of Warcraft. “We’re excited to show you what we’ve been working on and where your adventures in Azeroth will go next,” said Warcraft general manager John Hight.

Blizzard also has several other announcements to make in the coming weeks. On 15 March, the Hearthstone development team will deliver more details about the first of three expansions coming to the game sometime in 2022.
In May, Blizzard will also reveal a preview of Warcraft‘s first mobile game scheduled to release this year.
World of Warcraft‘s last major expansion was Shadowlands which released in November 2020. Since the popular MMOs launch in 2004, the game has received a new expansion every two years, meaning the next one will likely release by the end of 2022.
Since its leak, there has been little to no updates on whether or not World of Warcraft will finally receive its long-awaited console port. World of Wacraft: Complete Edition leaked for consoles last year, though Blizzard have yet to confirm this report. The console port will apparently hit Xbox too, and judging by the recent acquisition, it might release on Xbox Game Pass.
As with all leaks, take that with a grain of salt for now. World of Warcraft players can at least look forward to a new expansion later this year, and hopefully we’ll learn more about Blizzard’s plans to expand the game beyond the PC market.
