Just like clockwork, Epic Games continues to deliver on their promise of a free game every two weeks which is said to continue for the whole year. Right now, you can grab Oxenfree for free and previously, you could get Slime Rancher. These games did receive praise from critics and fans, but neither of them is really something special. What is special, however, is The Witness. It is one, if not the best puzzle game we’ve ever played and it will be the next free game from the Epic Games Store that PC gamers can take advantage of.

The Witness released back on 26 January and I had the amazing opportunity to review it, it was the best birthday present I could have asked for and even today, I look back at the experience with awe. From the mind of Jonathan Blow, The Witness threw me into a beautiful island where I had to escape by completing diverse, mind-boggling puzzles. I called it “a work of genius” back in the day and this still remains true even now.
At the time, The Witness was selling for R409 on Steam and my conclusion was that:
You can start exploring the mysterious island of The Witness for R409 on Steam; it is worth every cent for those willing to figure out all the intriguing puzzles the island holds. The game is a definite must play, if you know what you are getting yourself into. I would have probably still recommended this game even if it was double the price, that’s how much of an engrossing and intellectually stimulating experience the game has to offer.
If you haven’t played the game, then you can mark those calendars for 4 April, when The Witness will go free on the Epic Games Store. As always, there are no strings attached and you can simply create an Epic Games Store account and grab this incredible freebie, to keep forever and play at your leisure.

About The Witness
You don’t remember who you are, and you don’t remember how you got here, but there’s one thing you can do: explore the island in hope of discovering clues, regaining your memory, and somehow finding your way home.
The Witness respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There are over 500 puzzles but no filler; each of the puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. So, this is a game full of ideas.
