Pokemon Presents Event 27 February Nintendo

Next Pokemon Presents Event Confirmed For 27 February

The Pokemon Company has officially announced a new Pokemon Presents event scheduled to take place on 27 February which is next week Tuesday. The showcase’s announcement teases some exciting news for fans “in celebration of Pokemon Day 2024.”

The last game in the series was Pokemon Scarlet and Violet which launched back in November 2022. Since then, it’s unclear what developer Game Freak have been working on, though fans speculate that it could either be the next chapter in the Pokemon Legends spin-off series or a new mainline title. Historically, past Pokemon Presents events covered more than just games but anime and merchandise projects too, so we can look forward to hearing more about that.

With the launch of the Nintendo Switch’s successor possibly moved into early 2025, that leaves a big gap in the second half of Nintendo’s release calendar – a spot that can easily be filled in by a new Pokemon game for the current-gen Switch. Apart from a new Legends or mainline spin-off, fans also believe that we might get another remake in the vein of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Nintendo will probably want to end the current console generation on a high note (if Tears of the Kingdom wasn’t the last major exclusive), so a well-received Pokemon game could easily fill that role.

Nintendo is getting busy this month as a new Partner Direct is also set to air tomorrow. The event will feature around 25 minutes of updates from third-party publishers bringing games over to the Switch – the most-rumoured being Hi-Fi Rush after Xbox’s business update confirmed that at least four of its exclusives will be heading to other platforms.

Don’t miss the next Pokemon Presents on Tuesday, 27 February at 6am PST or 4pm CAT.
