Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone players are about to receive one of the most unlikely crossovers in the franchise’s history, not counting Godzilla. Activision recently revealed that musicians Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage will be heading to Call of Duty as cameo skins or Operators. The PlayStation Blog also revealed that Tomb Raider‘s Lara Croft will be coming to Call of Duty as an Operator too.
The offical website for Call of Duty recently laid out the roadmap for Season 5 which starts on 2 August. Players across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will have access to a number of new items, gear and skins. To celebrate 50 years of hip-hop, Activision revealed that it’s also adding rappers like Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage to the games as skins. They weren’t given release dates but Snoop Dogg will be the first to arrive in the launch window, with Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage dropping later in the season.

Activision explained on the site that Nicki Minaj was the first female Operator to star as herself. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg is no stranger to appearing in Call of Duty games as he previously made a cameo as a skin in 2021’s Vanguard and appeared as a voice pack for 2013’s Ghosts. This is the first time that 21 Savage will be appearing in a Call of Duty game.
While Activision didn’t mention this on the site’s announcement, a recent PlayStation Blog post also confirmed that Lara Croft will be coming to Call of Duty as another Operator, though didn’t reveal her release date. Players can probably expect the Tomb Raider to arrive in the middle of the season.
There’s a lot more to unpack from the Season 5 roadmap including new guns, modes and maps. Have a look at the full list of content currently planned to roll out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone starting next week:
