Nintendo has announced a new collaboration with LEGO to produce a Game Boy replica that fans can build using LEGO bricks. This isn’t the first collaboration with LEGO, as Nintendo has worked on multiple sets with the brand in the past. From the NES TV set to various Super Mario builds, the two brands have worked closely together.
Details are still scarce on what this LEGO Nintendo Game Boy looks like and how the whole project will pan out. Nintendo and LEGO released a very simple trailer for the collaboration that has a D-pad flying across the screen with the LEGO + Game Boy logo.
The trailer reveals that the project will be released sometime in October. So it is still very far away. Nintendo will likely showcase more about the set closer to the launch.
The latest LEGO Game Boy is yet another announcement from Nintendo that isn’t related to its leaked Switch 2 console. Nintendo has been trailing fans on for months now with new reveals, but these announcements have been everything but the new console.
The company started off with a new Nintendo Alarmo digital clock, announced a Donkey Kong attraction at Universal Studios Japan, hosted a secret beta test for a strange MMO game, opened up a museum in Kyoto, released a Nintendo Music player app, showcased Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, and now announced a LEGO Game Boy.
It seems Nintendo has a lot going on. They are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at fans when the only thing fans really want right now is some Switch 2 news. We don’t know what Nintendo will announce next. It will probably not be the Switch 2 reveal.
