Nintendo has announced a Splatoon 3 Edition of the Nintendo Switch OLED model which will be out on 26 August – a few weeks before the game’s launch on 9 September. The custom-themed Switch makes use of Splatoon‘s vibrant colour scheme, blending blue, purple, yellow and green on the Joy-Cons.

Splatoon 3 is making its way exclusively to Nintendo Switch this September and to celebrate its launch, Nintendo is making a custom Switch OLED model themed to the game. This includes the aforementioned vibrant use of colours and engravings of various characters from the Splatoon series.

The official description of Splatoon 3 reads:

“Enter the Splatlands, a sun-scorched desert inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. Splatsville, the city of chaos, is the adrenaline-fueled heart of this dusty wasteland.

Even in this desolate environment, Turf War reigns supreme and battles rage in new stages located in the surrounding wilds. Dynamic new moves help these fighters dodge attacks and cover more ground, along with a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink. Join Agent 3 in a fight against the unruly Octarians in story mode. Discover the secrets of Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze, and how they connect to the mode’s theme, ‘Return of the Mammalians.’

Team up and fend off waves of dangerous Salmonid bosses in the next iteration of Salmon Run, a co-op mode with fresh new features. ”

The edition will be available in stores on 26 August. However, it will not come with the Splatoon 3 game, which will require you to purchase it separately. Nintendo lists the console at a price point of $359.99, though no South African pricing or availability has been confirmed yet.
