Nintendo has rolled out the latest Switch update 13.1.0 that brings with it the controversial Expansion Pack support. For those who don’t know, the new Nintendo Switch Online subscription is now divided into two tiers. You can pay the basic tier price and get access to a large range of NES and SNES games. However, the new Expansion Pack tier enables Nintendo 64 and SEGA Mega Drive support along with the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC.
If you don’t have the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack then you can’t access those benefits. However, you can still play online and use NES and SNES games. Nintendo has come under fire in recent weeks for this new tier. Gamers don’t see why they need to purchase a whole new membership to access new content and games. In addition, the price of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack is quite high.
