Nintendo’s secret Nintendo Switch Online playtest filled up pretty fast last night. Within 5 minutes of sign-ups opening on the website, all 10,000 spots were filled. It was so fast that some users didn’t even get a chance to fill in the form.
We still don’t know what this test is for. According to users who managed to get into the playtest, the program includes a downloadable file of 2.5GB which will be available through a download code emailed to users closer to the time. The email says users need to ensure they have enough free space on their Switch consoles to download whatever this is.
The secret Nintendo Switch Online playtest kicks off on 20 October. So we will likely see more information about the test closer to the time or during the test itself. Only 10,000 openings were available and someone will share information about it. There also doesn’t seem to be any sort of NDA around the test.
Unfortunately, the test wasn’t available in South Africa. Local Nintendo fans will have to just wait and see what is in store for them when this all goes live later this month. In the meantime, you can catch up on the Nintendo Alarmo news about a new digital alarm clock released here in January. Nintendo also dropped the Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood overview trailer.
