No, Diablo Immortal is Not Cancelled as Blizzard Shares Development Update

After the announcement of Diablo IV at BlizzCon 2019 last night, many gamers are wondering just what happened to the mobile Diablo game Blizzard announced last year that triggered a mass wave of hate directed at the company. Well, Diablo Immortal was missing from all announcements last night during the opening ceremony but that does not mean it has been cancelled even if everyone and their cats hated the idea of it.

Blizzard released a blog post today giving fans an update on the status of the game. They made it clear that the studio wants to include all the things you know and love from the Diablo series with monsters to slay, loot to collect and customize and powerful classes to play with your friends.

Blizzard also detailed more about Diablo Immortal revealing some plotlines for the game;

Blizzard also revealed that all six known classes will be playable in the game including the Barbarian. Crusader, Monk, Necromancer, Wizard, and Demon Hunter. The game will also feature “Ultimate Abilities” that charge over time and with attacks and can be executed to perform “face-meltingly powerful displays of strength or raw magical potential”.

When asked about Diablo Immortal microtransactions, Blizzard simply stated;

That said, we know the business model is top of mind for lots of people out there and we’re taking the time to get it right.
