No New Infamous or Sly Cooper Games in the Works Says Sucker Punch

After rounds of internet rumours, speculations and reports, Sucker Punch Productions has now confirmed that there are no new Infamous or Sly Cooper games currently in development at the PlayStation studio. This comes in light of previous rumours that suggested the Ghost of Tsushima developer was working on a revival of Infamous and Sly Cooper, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Sucker Punch recently provided an update on the studio’s future plans, but quickly added that – against “insider” leaks and reports  – there aren’t any Infamous or Sly Cooper games currently in development. Instead, it’s believed that the company is working on the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, which was already heavily hinted at in recent job listings.

The partial statement provided by Sucker Punch reads:

“As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit InFamous or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no InFamous or Sly Cooper games in development.”

Several insiders claiming to have knowledge on happenings at Sony stated that Infamous and Sly Cooper games were in development but not at Sucker Punch. In the case of Sly Cooper, it was rumoured that Concrete Genie studio Pixelopus were behind the franchise’s revival.

Now that Sucker Punch has personally cleared the air and squashed those Infamous and Sly Cooper rumours, we can probably look forward to a Ghost of Tsushima sequel as well as a movie currently in the works by John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
