Xbox Game Pass R15 Trial Microsoft Starfield

No Plans For Starfield on PS5 But It Will ‘Eventually’ Happen – Report

Rumours about Starfield, the ambitious sci-fi RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, releasing on PS5 first surfaced earlier this year when Xbox announced that it planned to port several of its exclusives over to other platforms. A few smaller titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and Pentiment made their leaps over to PlayStation, though a new rumour suggests that, while there are currently no plans for Starfield‘s PS5 release, it will ‘eventually’ happen.

The rumour originates from extas1s, a known leaker who has a decent track record of accurate leaks and insider information. According to the leaker, Xbox currently has no plans to port Starfield over to PS5. “On the one hand, calm down for Starfield, there are still no active plans for it,” they claimed, later adding that it will eventually happen. This follows a string of rumours about Forza Horizon 5 potentially being ported over to PlayStation as well.

As of writing, PlayStation players can already enjoy Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and Pentiment on PS5. Microsoft’s plans to take its exclusives multiplatform could result in more former Xbox first-party titles coming to PS5 in the near future. If the latest rumours are to be believed, then we can probably expect some heavy-hitters like Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield in the next few months.

Despite being a Bethesda-published title owned by Xbox, DOOM: The Dark Ages, the upcoming first-person shooter sequel from id Software, was initially announced as a multiplatform release as well. This could be a good sign that future Xbox exclusives won’t be tethered to just one or two platforms, chief among them being the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls 6 – though it’s hard to tell what Microsoft’s exclusivity plans are for the long-awaited RPG right now as the project is still in active development.

As with all rumours, take this with a pinch of salt until we get confirmation from Xbox.
