Developer Shift Up says it doesn’t have plans to make DLC for Stellar Blade yet, though a Boss Rush mode is on the way. The action game launched last week Friday to positive reviews and a bit of controversy surrounding the game’s outfits (though that’s a discussion for another day). As for more content, players might not get future DLC for the game as it’s not on the table at Shift Up, at least for the time being.
Shift Up CEO Hyung-Tae Kim recently spoke to Korean outlet Nate (translation via Games Radar), revealing that there currently aren’t any plans to develop DLC for Stellar Blade. However, he gave a positive update on the game’s Boss Rush mode, confirming that it is coming though it has yet to be dated. Boss Rush will seemingly let players take on Stellar Blade‘s bosses one after another – a pretty challenging mode meant to test player skills and endurance.
In addition to Boss Rush, Stellar Blade also offers a pretty extensive New Game Plus mode that packs new skills, outfits and gear expansions. If you’re in the mood to replay the game, you can expect a lot more than just an increased challenge, it seems.
In our full review of Stellar Blade, we called it “the most refreshing PlayStation exclusive in years”, stating:
“Beyond its minor flaws, mostly about the skill system, Stellar Blade is a phenomenal game. It is quirky and off-beat. Something we haven’t seen from a PS5 exclusive in a long time. This game sort of reminds me of the other great PlayStation exclusives which have all been forgotten in favour of Sony’s more popular IPs. Heavenly Sword, Folklore, Puppeteer. While it isn’t the master of anything, I hope Stellar Blade sticks around because there’s a lot of potential here.”
Stellar Blade is now available exclusively for PS5. Make sure you also check out our guides on the six best skills to unlock first and how to find cans faster to unlock the lingerie outfit for Eve.
