If you were holding out for Titanfall 3 like most of the world then you are out of luck. According to Respawn, the studio currently has no new Titanfall games in development. In addition, the one that was in development last year has seemingly been cancelled too.

In an interview surrounding Respawn’s 10th anniversary, IGN asked Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella about Titanfall 3 or a just a new game. Vince confirmed that there’s nothing currently in development. However, he definitely wants to work on one.
Back in 2019, EA teased fans when CEO Andrew Wilson hinted at a new premium Titanfall game. That game seems to have been cancelled now. Clearly Respawn’s main focus now is Apex Legends. The free-to-play game is highly popular online and brings in all the dough EA needs at the moment. As soon as it slowly starts to tank, EA will work on something new to make money again. If this is Titanfall 3 then cool. However, don’t get your hopes up.
The cancellation of the series could also be attributed by the lack of success the games had. While they were both fantastic games, they failed to reach the success of say, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Apex Legends. In addition, the games always launched at a terrible time in the year and had to compete with the likes of Battlefield and Call of Duty.

We hope Titanfall 3 will one day come out of Respawn and EA but don’t expect it any time soon. It sounds like there are zero plans at the studio to begin development on a sequel.
