Nosferatu and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will be available digitally today on a variety of platforms. We reported last week on the digital release of Nosferatu but at the time, it was unconfirmed.
Both movies released around the same time last December, so their arrival on digital less than a month after theatrical releases is a bit bizarre. Nonetheless, if you missed out on both movies at the cinema, you’ll be able to watch them from the comfort of your home starting today.
Nosferatu is a remake of the 1922 classic horror movie Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror from director F.W. Murnau. Directed by The Witch and The Lighthouse filmmaker Robert Eggers, 2024’s Nosferatu follows Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), a real estate agent in the 1800s who gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he’s summoned by the elusive Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgard) in Transylvania. However, Orlok’s plans are far more sinister when it’s revealed that he harbours a strange fascination with Thomas’ wife, Ellen (Lily-Rose Depp).
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is the third movie in Paramount’s live-action adaptations of Sega’s iconic blue mascot. The third movie introduces Shadow (Keanu Reeves), a new imposing threat that Sonic and friends must stop. The plot synopsis reads:
“Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.”
According to Yahoo! Life, Nosferatu is available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Vudu, though South Africans will have to wait a while until we receive confirmation on its availability locally. There’s no word on when the movies will be available on streaming services yet. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 can also be rented through Apple TV, where you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting the play button. Like Nosferatu, Paramount has yet to make it available locally yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as we have word.
