NVIDIA has confirmed that its CES 2025 keynote will take place on 6 January and will be hosted by CEO Jensen Huang. The keynote will play host to the 50-Series GPU unveiling as the public will get to see the next-generation NVIDIA RTX 50-Series GPUs in the flesh.
Of course, NVIDIA hasn’t confirmed this just yet. The company only announced the keynote date and time but after all the rumours and recent specification leaks, there’s very little doubt about it.
Sources claim that the Consumer Electronics Show in early 2025 will be the event where the RTX 50-Series GPUs will make their debut. The event itself has already slotted in the keynote and sent out a press release with the announcement. The keynote will also take place the day before the doors open at the show. So if third-party vendors have their own 50-Series GPUs on display, they won’t leak before the announcement.
We can expect a lot from NVIDIA during the keynote. Aside from the RTX 50-Series cards, the company will likely touch on AI hardware and software. Two large aspects of NVIDIA as a business now.
PC enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for NVIDIA to share something new from the RTX range. It has been over two years since the 40-Series was first introduced. The cards debuted back in September of 2022.
Leaked specs for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 claim the cards will use a lot more power than the 40-Series. The 5090 flagship GPU for the 50-series will include 32GB of VRAM and use 600W of power. The report says this leaked 600W specification isn’t clear if it is the entire motherboard or just the GPU. However, the card uses 150W more than the RTX 4090. The card comes with a 512-bit but and 21,760 CUDA cores.
As for the NVIDIA RTX 5080, this card is said to use 400W of power up from the 320W on the RTX 4080. It will include 16GB of GDDR7 RAM and pack a 256-bit memory bus with 10,752 CUDA cores.
Whether these leaked specs are accurate is still unclear but with January just a few months away, we’ll see more information as we lead up to the CES Keynote.
