NVIDIA announced its new generation of graphics cards namely the 3000 series. This includes the NVIDIA RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090 which all make use of the new Ampere architecture. The new range boasts some impressive stats in comparison to the RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti cards. In addition, all models include ray-tracing support, a new impressive cooling system and all the teraflops you need.

First off we have the thermal design. NVIDIA has built a new pennant-shaped circuit board for the RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090. The new cooling system greatly improves heat dissipation while providing a less noisy fan. This is thanks to the dual fan setup that improves the airflow by 55%. In addition, the cooling system now features a bracket exhaust front fan that pushed air towards the rear fan.
The NVIDIA RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090 makes use of a new 12-pin connector. However, the 12 pins are smaller than the current eigh pin setup which means there’s more space around the connection. The company announced that each new RTX 3000 series will come with an adaptor in the box to connect the GPU to an eight-pin PSU.
As for the specs, these new GPUs are impressive. The RTX 3090 is massive and packs 24GB of RAM. NVIDIA is promising 8K 60FPS gameplay with this hardware. The 3070, for example, is faster than the RTX 2080 Ti and costs less too.
