NVIDIA is now officially the world’s most valuable company. Just weeks after overtaking Apple for the number two spot, NVIDIA has now knocked Microsoft off the podium and is worth $3.335 trillion. The growth in NVIDIA’s value has come after the company has been a driving force for generative AI in its chips.
Last night when trading closed, NVIDIA’s share price stood at $135,58. This was $4,60 higher than the previous day which put the company’s value at $3.335 trillion, more than Microsoft’s $3.32 trillion and Apple’s $3.29 trillion. Keep in mind that NVIDIA only just surpassed $2 trillion in February so it only took four months to reach $3.335 trillion.
NVIDIA has also seen substantial investment in 2024 due to the development of its new Blackwell GPU architecture. The B200 chip, which has been designed for enterprise use is described as the “world’s most powerful chip”. However, it comes with a hefty price tag of $30,00 to $40,000 each.
The company is also developing the Blackwell GPU architecture into its new 50-Series gaming GPU. It is expected to be announced near the end of the year and will mark a substantial leap in graphical power compared to the 40-series.
NVIDIA has also confirmed it will develop and release new AI chips every year to meet the ever-changing industry trends. These chips are being implemented into AI businesses, cloud processing, smart cars and other technology. As a result, investors have seen the company as the most important player in the world of AI.
