NVIDIA has announced the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060. The GPUs will release on 24 May for $399 and $299 respectively. However, the RTX 4060 and the RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of RAM will only launch in July. The RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 come with all the bells and whistles of other Ada Lovelace GPUs including DLSS 3. This means you’ll be able to enjoy AI-assisted frame-rate boosting and more.
NVIDIA already had a rough time marketing and selling the previous RTX 4080 with two different RAM counts. So this rollout of three different RTX 4060 GPUs is walking back into that territory. The whole announcement is incredibly suspect. The RTX 4060 Ti is meant to replace the RTX 3060 Ti but the new GPU has 8GB of RAM which is the same as the RTX 3060 Ti.

Then in July, NVIDIA will release another RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of RAM. This model has likely been developed following the backlash from users complaining about the limited 8GB on the standard RTX 4060 Ti.
In comparison to the RTX 3060 Ti, the new RTX 4060 Ti only promises a 15% increased performance over the 30-series card. This is without DLSS 3 enabled. Here’s a breakdown of the new hardware compared to other recent GPUs. Keep in mind that we still don’t know the boost clos and memory clock speed of the July-launched RTX 4060.

But even though the performance and RAM count are questionable, the RTX 4060 Ti does come with some perks. The card comes with a TGP of 160W compared to the 200W in the RTX 3060 Ti. This is with the added “20%” performance boost.
At the moment, NVIDIA is focusing on the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB model. This model will launch later this month for $399. Then in July, we’ll get the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB model which costs $499 and the RTX 4060 8GB at $299.
On paper, the new RTX 4060 Ti is almost identical to the RTX 4070 but with 8GB of RAM instead of 16GB. It is $200 cheaper too. But we’ll have to see how all this works out when reviews drop soon (wink wink).
