NVIDIA Super RTX Cards Could be Revealed at E3 2019

Before Computex 2019 took place, NVIDIA teased something but in the end, they didn’t try to steal AMD’s thunder with the Radeon RX 5700 series announcement. However, NVIDIA clearly does have something planned and this something could be the NVIDIA Super RTX graphics cards.

According to a source as reported by Tweaktown, NVIDIA plans to release new, more powerful and cheaper versions of the GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 graphics cards. The announcement is reportedly planned for E3 2019 and some of the new, rumoured NVIDIA Super RTX cards could cost $100 less.

As always, one should take a rumour such as this one with a large helping of salt, but with E3 2019 kicking off in less than a week, we will know if this rumour turns out to be true relatively soon. It is being reported that NVIDIA won’t create a new version of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti as the card will remain the mainstream flagship offering.

The NVIDIA Super RTX cards (rumoured name) will still of course be based on the Turing architecture, but will reportedly feature higher memory clocks than the current offerings. Further, all three the new cards will feature GDDR6 video memory. It will be interesting to see if this rumour turns out to be true, but cheaper RTX cards will no doubt be welcome for PC gamers looking for an upgrade.
