Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remake Development Virtuos

Oblivion Remake Could Arrive as Early as Next Month According to Sources

The Oblivion remake could be released as early as next month, as a wild new rumour says that Virtuos will announce the game in the coming weeks and release it as soon as April.

The latest rumour adds to the previous Oblivion remake news we covered, where reports of the game’s new mechanics began swirling around online earlier this year. The remake is supposedly built on Unreal Engine 5 and began development back in 2023.

According to reliable insider NatetheHate, Bethesda is expected to announce the remake in the coming weeks. NatetheHate claims his sources say the game will release in June; however, VGC says their sources say the Oblivion remake could arrive as early as next month, as in April.

Information surrounding the remake makes it sound like quite a robust project. The game has reportedly been rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 with reworked gameplay systems across all aspects of the game.

The game will feature a new stamina system, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and a new HUD. Reports say the blocking system has been inspired by games such as Dark Souls, and that the general combat system has been greatly improved to feel more modern.

While it hasn’t been confirmed, previous leaks say the Oblivion remake is being developed by Virtuos. The company is one of the largest game makers in the world and focuses on outsourcing development from other studios.

Virtuos has worked on a number of big projects in the past, including Call of Duty, Dark Souls, BioShock, and is currently developing the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake with Konami.

This Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake sounds rather spectacular and will be a great RPG to have around while we wait seemingly forever for the next instalment in the series.
