Oblivion Remastered Leaks Everything We Know So Far

Oblivion Remastered is Already The Third Best-Selling Game of 2025

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered from Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos only launched a couple of weeks ago but it’s already the third best-selling game of 2025, trailing behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Oblivion Remastered was, unsurprisingly, also the best-selling game in its launch week, beating out other RPG competitor Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which released a few days after it.

Circana gaming analyst Mat Piscatella revealed (via PC Gamer) that Oblivion Remastered became the third best-selling game of 2025 in its first week of launch, falling behind Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Monster Hunter Wilds, the latter currently holding the top spot (with a staggering 8 million units sold in just three days). However, exact figures weren’t provided, though we’ll probably get an update soon from Bethesda with some official numbers.

Oblivion Remastered launched on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 22 April, though it was also available on Xbox Game Pass. This didn’t seem to dent sales for the game as it quickly climbed up sales charts on platforms like Steam and the PlayStation Store.

The remaster was co-developed by Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos, a support company currently working with Konami on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It was built with a combination of Bethesda’s Creation Engine (or back then, the Gamebryo Engine) and Unreal Engine 5, resulting in a faithful revival of the original Oblivion with significantly enhanced visuals, animations and character models. Gameplay tweaks were also made to the game’s archery, movement and general quality of life elements.

The description for the game reads:

“The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with all new stunning visuals and refined gameplay. Explore the vast landscape of Cyrodiil like never before and stop the forces of Oblivion from overtaking the land in one of the greatest RPGs ever from the award-winning Bethesda Game Studios.”
