Netflix has released a closer look at the upcoming One Piece live-action series ahead of its debut later this month. The video gives users a quick glimpse into the world of One Piece, its fame and what you can expect from the story and show.
If you don’t know what One Piece is, this is definitely the video you should watch. Netflix does a great job highlighting each of the main characters in the show including Luffy.

What is important to note, the video doesn’t overexplain the show by any means. It gives you a small glimpse at the group and some of the mess they get up to.
If you don’t know, the One Piece live-action show also has a lot of South African flavour. The entire production was filmed in Cape Town and not only includes South African cast members but Franz Spilhaus also did the stunts for the show.
Spilhaus makes an appearance in the video which confirms he worked on all the fight and action scenes. He worked closely with Mackenyu who plays Roronoa Zoro in the live-action adaption. What is One Piece without the fights, really?
You’ll also get to see other South African-born stars in the upcoming show. Milton Schorr plays Don Krieg, Jandre le Roux also stars as Kuroobi and Celeste Loots plays Kaya. You can also see Nigerian-born South African actress Chioma Antionette Umeala in the role of Nojiko.
The One Piece live-action show debuts on 31 August only on Netflix. Watch the clip down below:
