One Piece Live-Action Netflix Luffy Cast Godoy

One Piece Season 2 Will Cover Loguetown to Drum Island

The live-action One Piece on Netflix is slowly trickling news about its anticipated second season. According to the latest details, season 2 will cover quite a bit of the manga – specifically, it will cover all the events of the series from Loguetown to Drum Island, where we’ll finally meet Tony Tony Chopper. Netflix also announced that additional casting for the new season will be revealed very soon.

As reported by X account DiscussingFilm (from a letter provided by One Piece series creator Eiichiro Oda), season 2 of the live-action show will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and finally, Drum Island. These smaller arcs precede the bigger Alabasta arc in the manga, which will likely be the focus of the third season. Loguetown is significant as it marks the first leg of the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey to the Grand Line while also teasing new characters like Smoker and Dragon.

Reverse Mountain might require a bit of CGI to pull off due to the giant whale Laboon, while Whiskey Peak will likely be action-heavy as it focuses on showcasing Zoro’s skills as a swordsman. Drum Island will conclude season 2, giving us the sixth Straw Hat Pirate, the anthropomorphic reindeer, Chopper.

There’s a lot of hype and anticipation leading into the second season of Netflix’s One Piece. The first season ended up becoming a surprise hit with audiences and critics, applauded for its faithful adaptation of the source material while also casting the perfect actors to play the core Straw Hats. It stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Production officially kicked off in Cape Town last month.

One Piece season 2 is expected to arrive sometime in 2025 on Netflix.
