One of the biggest monetization platforms on the planet is the smartphone you have in your hand and Marvel and Disney want to cash in on the opportunity by making an open-world Marvel RPG just for the platform. Marvel: Future Revolution for mobile was announced at PAX East last night and comes from the developers of Marvel: Future Fight. The game will see players form a group of superheroes called “Omega Flight” as they work together to battle an onslaught of super villains, confront their suspicious behaviours and defend the universe.

Marvel released a teaser trailer for Marvel: Future Revolution which showcased some of the playable characters including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and more. The explosive “in-engine” trailer also revealed the possibility of other Marvel heroes from different dimensions joining the fight including a Spider-Man and Captain Marvel. Some of the locations seen in the trailer include Xanderth and Sakaar too.
According to Disney, Marvel: Future Revolution for mobile will feature a dedicated story created by Marvel Comics writer Marc Sumerak. Marc worked on the last Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 video game for the Nintendo Switch. It is unclear how the game will work in terms of gameplay but Marvel states it is an action RPG with an open-world feature. It sounds like it may blend Ultimate Alliance gameplay with a large open world to explore. As of now, the game is only coming to mobile devices sometime in the future.
