OPPO are confident that the Reno5 5G will offer users an alternative option for smartphones in South Africa. The 5G-enabled phone packs some high-end specs which are set to rival Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy A range.

The OPPO Reno5 5G announcement follows the company’s recent release of its budget A15 and A53 smartphones which included an exclusive green model available at MTN.

OPPO Reno5 5G Specs and Key Features

The OPPO Reno5 5G packs a 6.44-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400×1080. It runs at a 90Hz refresh rate. The device includes 5G support and the fastest charging seen on any smartphone on the market. OPPO says that the Reno5 5G can charge from 0 – 100% in just 36 minutes.

The device includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM depending on the storage size. Speaking of which, users can pick up either a 128GB or 265GB model. The phones come in Galactic Silver and Starry Black and both feature a colour-changing finish.

As for the camera system, the OPPO Reno5 5G includes a quad-camera array that packs a 64MP wide lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth lens. The front camera includes a 32MP lens. The phone support dual-video recording that lets users record video with both the front and the back lens at the same time.
