Outer Worlds Level Cap, Crafting, Survival Mode and More Revealed

Outer Worlds is one of our most anticipated games of the year and there is no doubt that the game is on everyone’s wishlist. It is the latest game from the original creators of Fallout: New Vegas and could be the Fallout experience we have been longing for.

New information from the game has surfaced which includes new game mechanics as well as new information on a survival mode too. All these juicy details are adding much excitement to the game’s imminent 2019 release.

First off we have the level cap. Speaking on GameInformer’s podcast, Co-Directors Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky revealed that it is indeed level 30. However, your player level is just one part of it as the weapon system is another. According to the directors, there is no crafting system in Outer Worlds. Rather, weapons have mods which you can equip on them that change various aspects of a gunfight. The same goes for armour as they too feature a mod system instead of a traditional crafting system.

As for the game’s story, according to the directors, Outer Worlds takes place in an alternate history where US President William McKinley was never assassinated. This then led to Theodore Roosevelt never taking office and implementing the Sherman Anti-Trust Act which outlawed monopolistic business practices. Thus, in Outer Worlds, everything is owned by these mega-corporations and their intent is not what it seems. Your role is to discover the hidden secrets behind them all.

Lastly, the Outer Worlds survival mode called “Supernova” will give the main character survival mechanics such as hunger, thirst and fatigue. This mode will most likely be separate from the standard playthrough of the game similar to the survival mode found in Fallout: New Vegas.

Outer Worlds is set for release sometime in 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Check out some gameplay below;
