Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

Palpatine is Back in the First Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker Teaser Trailer

Disney and Lucasarts dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker last night and it was everything we had hoped for.

The teaser opens on a dry and sandy desert as Rey awaits what seems to be a showdown with Kylo Ren as he speeds towards her in his fighter ship. It is then revealed that she indeed is wielding lightsaber.

The teaser trailer then continues to flash some epic shots in which we see Kylo using some fancy-schmancy body slams,  a new and adorable robot called DE-0 and even an appearance of Lando Calrissian who is sitting alongside Chewie. Most tear-jerking of all is the hug from the late Carrie Fisher to Rey that has us wondering what role she would have played is had lived to shoot Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Yes, she is in the upcoming film but to what extent?

The trailer then ends with the words “no one is ever gone” as Emperor Palpatine cackles in the background as he makes is modern-day debut and we learnt that he will indeed be in the upcoming film.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is the final chapter in the current trilogy before the Star Wars series takes a well-deserved break. Disney revealed that they will be putting the film series on ice at the end of the upcoming sequel and I think it is about time. The film will release sometime in December of 2019 with official dates and ticket openings yet to be revealed.
