Palworld Four New Pals Location Summer

Palworld Peaks at Over 140k Players After Latest Update

Players are flocking back to Palworld in droves after the game recently got its so-called “Summer Update”. While the numbers are nothing in comparison to its debut peak earlier this year, the player count has surpassed 140,000 players over the past few days.

At launch, Palworld was a massive success for PocketPair. The game peaked at over 2.1 million players during its most popular days in January 2024. However, the player count slowly dropped and dwindled down as the early access game lacked content to keep players busy.

Palworld went from 2.1 million players to a measly 22k in May which is expected. However, the new update seems to be drawing players back into the world. This past weekend, Palworld saw 148,000 players log into the game. This is the most players Palworld has seen since 8 March.

This is all thanks to the new Sakurajima update which went live last week for the game. On 27 June, PocketPair dropped the Sakurajima content which included a whole new island to explore, a new raid to take on, a level cap increase, new Pals to catch and various gameplay enhancements and fixes.

Keep in mind that Palworld is still in early access. The latest update marks only version 0.3 of the build so this monster-catching game has a long way to go before it’s complete. But the good news is that players haven’t abandoned the game just yet. Instead, it seems they are simply waiting around for new content to drop.

PocketPair is hard at work on new content for Palworld. The studio has also teased a possible PS5 version in the works which might arrive sooner than we think. At the moment, Palworld is only available on Xbox and PC.
