Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Gets Action-Packed Gameplay Overview

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a remaster of the popular 2013 fighting game by Arc System Works and Atlus, has received a brand new gameplay overview highlighting the game’s explosive, eye-catching combat. The remaster is expected to hit PS4, Xbox One and PC soon, and marketing is finally kicking into overdrive for the return of a legendary fighter.

Atlus recently uploaded a gameplay overview for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, which pits several characters from the Persona RPG series in one overhauled fighting game package. Developer Arc System Works, who gained mainstream recognition following the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ and last year’s critically acclaimed Guilty Gear Strive, flex their abilities when it comes to refined, flashy and intricate fighting mechanics.

Most of the gameplay trailer is in-engine footage showing off the fighting styles of various characters. Additionally, the video also announces that preorders are now open on PC via Steam, with console preorders presumed to follow shortly.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax isn’t just an average re-release as it bundles all of the game’s DLC. It’s also what many fans believe is the “superior” version of the game that was previously locked to Japanese arcades and consoles for almost a decade. Players will also be treated to a wider variety of character colours as well as in-game music.

In celebration of Persona‘s 25th anniversary, Atlus announced last year that they were hard at work on multiple Persona-related projects, with one of them believed to be Persona 6. Persona 5 received follow-ups of its own since 2017, getting Persona 5 Royal which featured expanded story content, as well as Persona 5 Strikers, a Musou action game that doubled as a sequel to the original title.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax releases on 17 March 2022 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
