Persona 5: The Phantom X, a mobile spin-off of Persona 5 that initially released in beta form earlier this year, could be announced for consoles soon. All signs seem to be point to The Game Awards, according to a known Atlus and SEGA leaker.
The report comes from Ryan From The Bronx, formerly Midori, a known leaker who accurately reported on Atlus and SEGA leaks in the past. Despite some controversies surrounding the leaker, their claims have mostly been accurate so it’s worth investing some trust here. According to them, Persona 5: The Phantom X could be announced for consoles at The Game Awards which will take place on 12 December.
The leaker added that this announcement is more likely than Persona 6, which still doesn’t have a release date or window yet despite Atlus already confirming the game’s development back in July 2021. Depending on who you ask, some fans aren’t too thrilled about yet another Persona 5 spin-off title. In the same leak, Ryan mentions that there’s a better chance of Persona 6 being announced at a reveal event for the Nintendo Switch 2, similar to how Atlus revealed previous Persona titles at an Xbox event.
Yes, I believe P5X is more likely than P6 at TGA, and have always believed that to be the case. A more likely venue for a Persona 6 announcement would be at a Switch 2 reveal event, similarly to how Atlus revealed P3R, P5T and Metaphor at an Xbox event.

On that note, there are plenty of rumours online about Persona 6 already. One report claims that it will once again take place in high school, which is a fairly safe bet considering that every entry in the franchise featured a high school setting. Another report also claims that the colour scheme for the sixth title will be green, with development beginning as far back as 2019. We’ll have to wait and see if any official announcements are made.
