Rumours surrounding Persona 6 have been a whirlwind for the last few months, with reports coming forward claiming to have release windows and development details. Atlus has been on a roll announcing new Persona projects such as Persona 3 Reload, Persona 5 Tactica and Metaphor: ReFantazio (which is heavily inspired by the gameplay, aesthetics and style of Persona). According to a new report, the sixth mainline game will not release in 2024 anymore – but there’s another Persona spin-off on the way too.
The rumour originates from prominent leaker IAmAHeroToo, who also dropped information today about numerous Final Fantasy remakes in development at Square Enix. According to the leak, Persona 6 is apparently not going to release in 2024 because it’s still deep in development. The anticipated sequel was originally supposed to be revealed last winter but that didn’t happen.

The leaker also mentions that Persona 6‘s main colour theme has been changed from green to black/white. Each Persona game in the series is defined by its unique colour presentations (Persona 3 is blue, Persona 4 is yellow/gold and Persona 5 is red). Finally, IAmAHeroToo mentions that a new Persona spin-off game will be announced soon and it’s a party game of some kind.
As for what’s reportedly been revealed already, Persona 6 is apparently in development under the codename ‘Carbon’. The same leak also mentions that another party game has yet to be revealed, specifically with the codename ‘Asa’.
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to playing Persona 3 Reload early next year, a full remake of Persona 3 with new animations, improved UI and more content. Persona 5 Tactica is a new tactics-based spin-off game launching on 17 November for consoles and PC as well as day one on Xbox Game Pass.
