Persona 6 Atlus Live Show

Persona 6 Reportedly Set to Release in 2025 – New SMT in The Works

We’re once again reporting on Persona 6 release date news and this time, we have a good lead from a prominent leaker. According to the latest leak, Atlus is currently planning on releasing Persona 6 sometime in 2025, though no reveal date has been set yet. Additionally, a new Shin Megami Tensei (SMT) game might also be in the works.

Twitter/X user MbKKssTBhz5, who has a very good track record of accurate leaks relating to the Persona and SMT games, recently claimed that Persona 6 will be released in 2025. Furthermore, Atlus is planning on releasing Persona “ASA”, believed to be a party game featuring all the main characters from Persona 1-5, in 2024 alongside the Persona-inspired new IP, Metaphor: ReFantazio. Finally, Persona 5X is billed as a “reimagining” for mobile devices and it’s also reportedly coming in 2024.

The leaker also mentions that a new Shin Megami Tensei game is apparently in the works but didn’t offer any further details about it.

Persona 6 rumours have been a bit of a rollercoaster over the past few years. The game was first listed as being in development back in 2021, but a later report claimed that it was delayed internally and would miss its planned 2023 release window. This was followed by a rumour that suggested Persona 6 would release in late 2024 but now, plans have seemingly changed and if the latest leak is to be believed, then 2025 seems like the most realistic time to expect the new entry.

Persona 5X is an intriguing idea and one that we’ve seen done before with Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition. That said, Metaphor: ReFantazio is showing plenty of promise as a spiritual successor to Persona. It might fill the gap while we wait for the sixth mainline game.

Persona 5 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
