PewDiePie Signs Exclusive Streaming Deal With YouTube

Mixer may have Ninja but YouTube has… PewDiePie. Felix Kjellberg aka “PewDiePie” has signed an exclusive live-streaming deal with YouTube. The news arrives one year after Felix Kjellberg announced a partnership with DLive. According to a press release, PewDiePie has now departed the blockchain-based live streaming site and moved to the Goole platform permanently.

PewDiePie is excited to go back to his home pastures according to the release. “Live streaming is something I’m focusing a lot on in 2020 and beyond, so to be able to partner with YouTube and be at the forefront of new product features is special and exciting for the future,” he said.

Kjellberg’s deal is one of many taking place currently in the world of streaming. Many companies such as Mixer, YouTube, Twitch, and even Facebook Gaming are snatching up popular streamers. YouTube has already signed deals with the likes of CouRage, Typical Gamer, and Valkyrae.

No one knows what the PewDiePie YouTube deal was worth but the guy is one of the biggest streamers in the world so it had to be worth a lot. However, being the biggest also comes with some nasty issues. The creator has been surrounded in controversy in the past few years over racist remarks and white supremacy.
