Xbox Game Pass on PC will be a thing in the future. Yes, you read that correctly, Microsoft’s subscription-based gaming service will be coming to PC, we just don’t know when yet. That’s some great news for PC gamers who are looking for a subscription service, while others will argue that they can just buy games on Steam so cheaply that it doesn’t really matter.

This news comes from Microsoft’s quarterly earnings conference call (as reported by PC Gamer) where CEO Satya Nadella mentioned the company’s plans to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC. This will no doubt further the whole mission to merge PC and Xbox gaming. Xbox Game Pass on PC does sound like a good idea, as one can play the latest exclusives as they release on the Xbox One with a Game Pass.

For me, it is quite great simply because you don’t have to splurge R800 to R1000 for a new right away and instead, just drop R159 a month and forget about it. It’s a good deal, but the question remains how it will work for PC gamers. Mr Nadella didn’t go into any detail, except for saying that:

Bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of increasing the strength of our gaming community.

Keep in mind that if you own an Xbox One and a decent gaming PC, and you are subscribed to the Game Pass for Xbox, you can already play the games that are “Play Anywhere” titles on your PC. However, with over 200 games in the Game Pass, there’s a lot you can’t play. Hopefully, there will be some kind of emulation through Windows 10 so we can play the entire library, which will be pretty grand. On the other hand, things will very likely need to work through the Microsoft Store, so you have to keep that in mind.

What do you think about the Xbox Game Pass heading to PC in the future? Would you subscribe to the service? Let us know in the comment section below.
