PlayStation Acquires Demon’s Souls Remake Dev Bluepoint Games

Shortly after the announcement that Sony had acquired Returnal developer Housemarque, the Japan PlayStation Twitter account accidently announced another acquisition. According to the tweet, PlayStation also bought out Bluepoint Games, the acclaimed studio known for their excellent remakes of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus

While this announcement has not been confirmed yet by Sony, the PlayStation Japan Twitter account did tweet the news alongside an official artwork and link to an unpublished PS Blog post. It is just a matter of time now before Sony shares the news.

Bluepoint Games, just like Housemarque have had a strong relationship with Sony for years now. The studio has produced multiple PlayStation exclusive games including the most recent Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls.

It was just a matter of time before Sony swept them up as their studios’ main focus has been PlayStation exclusive titles. We also heard rumours of the buyout earlier this year so this all but confirms the acquisition. We will update this post when Sony shares the official announcement.
