PlayStation Plus Collection Sony Remove 9 May

PlayStation Plus Collection Shuts Down Next Week

Sony announced earlier this year that it was planning on removing the PlayStation Plus Collection, a small library of PS4 games available to PS5 players, on 9 May. That date is now fast approaching as players only have until next week to claim the games currently available in the collection including God of War, Bloodborne, Days Gone and many more.

The PlayStation Plus Collection currently contains a total of 19 games consisting of the greatest hits from the previous generation. Players will be able to claim any of these games before they’re locked forever and add them to their library. The claimed games will always be accessible, even after the PlayStation Plus Collection closes, as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription.

In March last year, PlayStation removed Persona 5 from the collection. Here’s all 19 games that you can currently download from the library:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Bloodborne
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • Until Dawn
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Several of these games are also available on PlayStation Plus Extra which explains why Sony saw no use for the PlayStation Plus Collection anymore.

Before the launch of the PS5, Sony made quite a big deal about the PlayStation Plus Collection. Many assumed that it would eventually grow over time with new games being added every month, evolving into a library that could compete with Xbox Game Pass. As the months went by, it was clear that this collection only existed as a selling point for PS5 buyers. Furthermore, it allowed those new to the PlayStation ecosystem to try out some good PS4 titles and exclusives from the last generation.

Sony will remove the PlayStation Plus Collection on 9 May so make sure you add every game to your library before then.
