The list of games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe have leaked ahead of schedule and it looks like there are a few good choices being added to the library in September. As reported by the reliable leaker billbil-kun, PlayStation fans can look forward to playing Nier Replicant, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 and much more soon.
Billbil-kun, who has a known history of accurately leaking the PlayStation Plus lineup every month, reports that this month’s game dump for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe users will have a few surprises, namely the critically acclaimed Nier Replicant remaster, which acts as a prequel to Nier Automata. Fans say that this list isn’t bad but many were hoping for bigger titles to justify the recent massive price hike in PlayStation Plus subscriptions, which bumped the cost of annual subscriptions up by a hefty amount. Sony has yet to comment on why it chose to increase the prices so drastically but at least we know, judging by the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue, that it probably has nothing to do with the games coming to the service.
That said, the new additions are pretty good. Nier Replicant released back in 2021 to positive reviews and gave Western players the opportunity to try out a slightly different version of the original Nier, which led into the events of Nier Automata. Star Ocean: The Divine Force launched in 2022 and while it wasn’t well-received, it’s still a worthwhile play for Star Ocean fans. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is also a bit of a hidden gem if you’re looking for a surprisingly solid and enjoyable stealth action game.
