PlayStation Plus Prices Are Going up in SA and They Aren’t Pretty

Sony is increasing the price of all PlayStation Plus subscriptions for all users. The announcement comes off the back of the September game lineup reveal which includes Saints Row, Black Desert and Generation Zero.

Starting on 6 September, if you need to renew or purchase any PlayStation Plus membership, you’re going to pay up to 31% more for it. The top-tier PlayStation Plus Deluxe 12-month package is going up by R450 and will cost you close to R1900 a year now.

The good news is that Sony isn’t touching the monthly and 3-month packages whatsoever. So if you renew your service monthly, you’ll still pay the same price. The same goes for the 3-month package. However, any annual subscriptions will see you fork out more starting in September.

Sony not increasing the monthly subscription price also means that you now save less money when you purchase an annual subscription. You definitely save some money in the end but that has changed from saving R1079 on a Deluxe 12-month package to only R629.

So with that in mind, here’s what you’ll pay for PlayStation Plus going forward:
