PlayStation Reportedly Has More Games Planned For 2025

Sony reportedly has more games planned for 2025 beyond Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Bungie’s Marathon and the recently announced Ghost of Tsushima follow-up, Ghost of Yotei. We know that Sony’s first-party studios like Bluepoint, Santa Monica and Naughty Dog are still quietly at work on new titles, though a new report claims that there’s more to come for PlayStation fans next year.

The report comes from leaker Shinobi602, who has a decent track record of accurate leaks. According to the leaker, Sony might have more in store for players in 2025 (capping off the message with a “Maybe”). This suggests that Shinobi602 might have more information regarding PlayStation’s line-up for next year that he can’t disclose yet.

Of course, with the highly anticipated single-player blockbusters from Sony’s first-party studios still in the oven, there’s also the third-party exclusivity deals we have to take into account. Titles like Phantom Blade Zero, Lost Soul Aside and more could fill in the gaps on PlayStation’s schedule for 2025 as well.

Beyond that, PlayStation fans can rest knowing we’ll be getting Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and Ghost of Yotei next year, two heavy-hitting AAA titles that Sony has sorely lacked this year. Apart from Astro Bot, PS5 has been kept afloat in 2024 thanks to strong third-party offerings like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and Black Myth: Wukong.

Sony recently hosted a State of Play event where the company unveiled Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, coming this October. Additionally, new trailers for both Monster Hunter Wilds and Dragon Age: The Veilguard were also shown.

PlayStation’s focus next year will definitely revolve around the PS5 Pro, which is set to release this November. Offering a more seamless blend between higher frame rates and resolution, the PS5 Pro seems to be a mid-gen shake-up that Sony is heavily banking on.
