The listing also states that the company is looking for a director who can “Lead PC growth and commercial strategy” as well as “Develop and implement global PC store strategy and process”. PlayStation is pushing further into the PC space after finding success with the first-party titles currently available on PC which include Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War.

PlayStation has begun bringing more first-party titles to PC such as the upcoming Uncharted:Legacy of Theives planned to release later this year. Sony even created “PlayStation PC” within Sony which solely focuses on publishing PlayStation titles on PC.

In an interview with GameInformer, God of War director Cory Barlog claimed that developers had to fight Sony to start releasing first-party titles on PC. Barlog stated that “I think for us, it’s really exciting that there’s a new potential audience of people who haven’t played the game who get to experience it and show it off on their beefy machine”.

“I think it was the collective of studios all over saying this is a really good idea. We should be looking into this. Eventually, I think it reached that tipping point. When we had sent so many suggestion box suggestions that they were like, “I’m tired of hearing all this. Fine, we’ll do this.” It’s a process. We’re still figuring it out as a company and as individual studios how to do this and what the process and strategy will be.”
