A PlayStation showcase is rumoured to take place this September according to a new report. Since the global pandemic began, PlayStation had shifted to hosting dedicated online events, with the biggest events usually happening in September since 2020. This new report lines up with Sony’s schedule and it’s definitely one PS4 and PS5 owners should be paying attention to.
According to renowned leaker Dusk Golem, who just recently leaked a never-before-seen God of War Ragnarok image, PlayStation is planning to host an event in September. Naturally, this aligns with Sony’s previous scheduling of hosting events in September every year for the last two years. The 2020 showcase was held on 16 September while the 2021 showcase aired on 9 September.

The chances of another big PlayStation event happening this September are very likely unless plans change at the last minute. As with all rumours and reports, though, take this with a slight pinch of salt until we get confirmation from PlayStation or an official source.
As for what players are hoping to see, Insomniac Games is currently working on two major projects: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine. Hopefully the developer will have something to show at the event. Additionally, we might see a bit more gameplay for God of War Ragnarok, which is scheduled to launch this November.
There are also a plethora of rumoured titles seemingly in the works at PlayStation, including a Twisted Metal reboot and a revival of MotorStorm. There’s also the curious case of those Silent Hill leaks that occurred earlier this year, which suggested that a handful of Silent Hill games were in development, including a Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team and a major entry being handled by an unnamed Japanese publisher.
We’ll just have to wait and see if any of these rumours pan out, but we have a lot to look forward to from PlayStation.
