PlayStation recently announced that it will host a new State of Play event later today focusing on indie and third-party titles as well as some PS VR2 updates. However, it seems unlikely to feature any major first-party updates so fans hoping to see a batch of new PS5 exclusives might need to adjust their expectations. Here’s when and where you can watch tonight’s State of Play and what to expect.
Previous reports suggested that PlayStation would host a much bigger showcase for September but it looks like we might be getting a smaller event instead through a State of Play. If older State of Play showcases are anything to go by, then we shouldn’t expect any massive reveals beyond what has already been announced. Sony confirmed that it will “focus on indie and third-party titles from around the world” and will “focus on updates to previously announced games coming to PlayStation consoles.”
When and Where to Watch PlayStation State of Play September 2023
When to Watch
Looks like this State of Play will be another late night showing for South Africans. It will air on Thursday, 14 September (today) at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST or 11pm CAT (local time). It’s unclear how long the showcase will run for but it shouldn’t be longer than an hour.
Where to Watch
You’ll have a few options for where to watch tonight’s State of Play. The stream is currently live and counting down on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel but we’ve also embedded it below for convenience. Alternatively, you can also watch it on the official PlayStation Twitch channel. .
There’s a lot to speculate about tonight’s event. PlayStation began hinting at updates for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Stellar Blade recently so there’s a good chance we might see new trailers for those games at the show and hopefully with release dates. Beyond that, we might also get a look at any number of upcoming or rumoured Capcom games too, though the best stuff might be saved for Tokyo Game Show instead.
