PlayStation has a lot planned for the PS5 this year, including highly anticipated first-party releases such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and console exclusives such as Final Fantasy XVI and Forspoken, among others. While its exclusive line-up seems promising, we may also get some third-party announcements very soon, according to a credible leaker.
The Snitch, after announcing their retirement from leaks, has returned with another leak. This time, the leaker (who has been highly accurate with several leaks prior to reveals happening) claims that PlayStation is preparing to reveal some third-party content “very soon”, at least according to their reliable sources. It seems like the company will start shifting its focus to the current generation as the PS4 slowly fades out, making room for current-gen only titles to start becoming the norm.

Of course, a console’s success not only thrives on its first-party offering but how much third-party content is also available. PlayStation seems to be fully aware of this and we may get some big new third-party reveals soon. Whether this takes the shape of a new State of Play event (with rumours quickly heating up about one potentially happening soon) or otherwise is unclear, but The Snitch’s track record speaks for itself so we can hopefully look forward to some exciting news soon. As with all rumours and leaks, we recommend still taking this with a pinch of salt for now.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect either. PlayStation competitor Xbox has confirmed a Developer Direct showcase set to take place later this month where we’ll get updates for games such as Redfall, Forza Motosport, Minecraft Legends and new content for The Elder Scrolls Online. However, Xbox’s biggest release of the year, Starfield, will get a dedicated showcase soon after the event.
We’ll just have to wait and see if PlayStation makes any official announcement this month regarding this leak.
